Many motorists crash into the heavy maintenance vehicles, respectively on the warning trailers and get seriously injured. Road workers however, are endangered as well. The safety system Euro-TMA is designed to reduce the risk of injury to passengers of an
impacting vehicle and to the driver of the block vehicle. A purpose-built 2 x 2 m aluminium cushion bringing the impacting vehicle to a safe,
controlled stop. Ideal protection for motorists, for the work vehicles and for the road workers. The system mounts at the rear of a truck and may be used in stationary applications, such as truck blocking in a work zone and mobile operations, such as striping, sweeping, ploughing, weed control or any other maintenance. The TMA is approved according to the USA standard NCHRP 230. It is also tested by the BASt (German Federal Highway Research Institute). Its efficiency has been proven in various accidents with cars and with trucks.
